Doula Life

I love my job. When I’m headed to a birth my heart races, and when the baby is born, it sings! Nurturing parents as they birth and feed their babies is hugely rewarding, and really allows me to see people at their best. The way we start our journey as parents matters! While my contact with families may be relatively brief, I hope to instill it with meaning and individualized care.

After providing doula support to hundreds of families, I am acutely aware of the complex factors that can impact a woman’s birth experience, and I hope to humanize a system that can feel impersonal and intimidating. Since childbirth is our very own everyday miracle, we must approach it with excitement instead of fear. That helps the process to unfold physiologically. The right support can empower people to give birth on their own terms.

I provide professional, full-spectrum birth and lactation services to my clients. No judgment, just support. My approach to doula care, education, and lactation support is individualized and positive, pragmatic, and highly curated through the lens of experience. I can help you find your own way through childbirth and breastfeeding- a unique path, because you and your partner are unique individuals, and so is your baby.

I am Lamaze and DONA trained and certified, as well as being a credentialed IBCLC. As a seasoned doula and educator, respect for people’s individual choice and dignity, reverence for birth and a passion for supporting families is implicit in everything I do. I believe in you! Whether you seek childbirth classes, birth doula services, placenta encapsulation, or breastfeeding assistance, I help people navigate the noise to find the joy inherent in the process.

What People Are Saying

"You are the one that will birth this baby, no one else". She gave me back the power I was so looking to ship out. THANK GOD. During my labor she sent my husband to bed when he needed it, knowing I would need him. She stood in the fire with me and when I needed to make a decision I asked her what she would do, she told me and I did that exact thing, because I trusted her. She is the Doula that will put you at ease when the midwife that is coming to your birth is the only one in the practice you havent met. She will occasionally crack a joke and put your sister on facetime and watch as your baby latches for the first time, make you incredible placenta pills and a tincture and will be there for texts weeks after when you think your baby has a tongue tie and you might have mastitis and basically is everything. SO YEAH 11 out of 10 for Britt Sando. She is Dope AF.”

"I would have had a very traumatic labor without Britt. Left on our own, my anxiety would have fed off of my husband's creating an intense and stressful situation. Britt established trust with me very quickly when she arrived on the scene. She encouraged me and believed in me. She is an experienced and knowledgeable birthing coach and knew just how to help me at every stage. My husband and I took an eight-week birthing class together, but we still agree that having a doula was the best money we ever spent. I couldn't have done it without Britt. Her professionalism, in every sense, went above and beyond what we expected.

I am so thankful to have met Britt! From the moment you meet Britt, you feel like you have known her for a while.  Her calming, warm, personable, and funny demenaor is so wonderful.  My husband and I took birth education classes with her and we greatly appreciated all she taught us.  She does not speak down to you and she is willing to answer any and all of your questions.  I also hired her to encapsulate my placenta to make pills and I believe they were extremely helpful in my postpartum recovery.  After giving birth to my son, Britt has also been extremely helpful in assisting me with lactation support.  She is easily accessible by phone and I really appreciate her dedication to her clients. I highly recommend her!!”
