Services

Birth Doula Services
We are committed to providing continuous support, unbiased information, and superior care to our clients. We offer over ten years experience in negotiating care, providing comfort, and offering a calm and knowledgeable guide to achieving a birth experience that you will feel great about.

Services include:

  • One to two prenatal visits
  • Unlimited phone and e-mail consultations
  • On-call service two weeks prior and post estimated due dates
  • Continuous support at home and/or in the hospital during labor
  • A postpartum visit
  • Birth plan counseling

Fee: $1,000 ($300 deposit due upon hire and $700 after the birth)

Childbirth Education
As certified Lamaze International childbirth educators, we provide evidence-based information combined with real world experience drawn from our years supporting women during birth in a variety of settings. We offer private, in-home classes to fit your busy schedule and your specific circumstances as well as small group classes in Morristown, NJ. The classes we teach give frank, informative, and inspiring instruction about the life- changing experience of childbirth.

Topics include:

  • Signs of labor
  • Care practices supporting healthy birth
  • The Birth Plan
  • Pain management, comfort measures and coping strategies
  • Physical, emotional and hormonal stages of labor
  • Negotiating collaborative care with your midwife or doctor
  • Common interventions, complications and cesarean section
  • Newborn procedures and care
  • Breastfeeding education

Fee: $350 for three 2-hour sessions -- $150 for one 2-hour refresher classes
Group classes available at The Remedy Center, 20 Elm St. Morristown, NJ

Postpartum Doula Services
Britt offers postpartum doula services to growing families. A postpartum doula can be a lifeline while everyone adjust to a new baby in the home. Unlike a nanny or baby-nurse, a postpartum Doula encourages the mother’s skills and intuition in caring for her own newborn. Our goal is to help continuing “mothering the mother” so she can be rested and nourished enough to bond with her baby and recover fully from the hard work of labor.

Services include:

  • Breastfeeding support
  • Light housework
  • Meal preparation
  • Resources and referrals
  • Help with older siblings
  • Tips and information for newborn care
Fee: $25 per hour, with a minimum of six total hours

Prenatal and Postpartum Massage
Kathleen, a nationally certified and AMTA massage member since 2000, offers customized prenatal and postpartum massage to help decrease the aches and pains of pregnancy. Low back pain, hip pain, pregnancy induced carpal tunnel, swelling, and many other common physical discomforts brought on by pregnancy can all be relieved with a customized massage combining relaxing Swedish and deeper work where needed.

Fee: $100 for in-home massage -- $80 at salon
In-home massage available to local and doual clients only.

Birth Plan Counseling
All birth plans are not created equal. Let us help you write a realistic and appealing birth plan to increase the likelihood that it will be read, understood and respected. We can contact you over the phone or via email and help you craft an effective and concise plan.

Fee: $40 for unlimited counseling and edits
